Light Board Design
Blog Article
Lighting is arguably the most critical aspect of a light board. Edge-lit LEDs are embedded or affixed along the periphery of the panel. These LEDs inject light into the acrylic, which remains internally reflected until disturbed by writing or smudging. The writing, made with neon or fluorescent markers, disrupts the internal reflection and glows, making it highly visible on camera. Lighting design must consider brightness, color temperature, and even the direction of diffusion to minimize hot spots and glare. Often, dimmable LED strips are preferred to give control over the board’s illumination.
